Well, as the car is being serviced for the first time next week, I thought I would enquire about getting the AUX IN and retrofitting voice control.

Including tax, the total cost is ?327, so I decided that was pretty reasonable.

I'll let you know how it goes.

I am also hoping to get voice control retrofitted but my dealer says the kit is not due to be released until end of March at the earliest as it is waiting for a test fit in an e60. I will be interested to see how you get on!

Here's an update:

Service (oil change) went fine + new wiper rubber. No charge for all that. Good old Service Inclusive

AUX-IN is fitted, now I need to buy something to test it with.

Voice recognition can't be done just yet. They have the actual parts, but discovered when they went to fit it there is a form they have to order which needs to be signed by me and faxed to BMW Germany to get a password! The form is not on the parts list yet . Go figure!
