You are asking two questions here. The correct pressures for your tyre/wheel size are on the driver's side door pillar label and in the handbook.Members are advising you of the pressures that they run for whatever reason, but not necessarily the correct ones.
Door pillar tire pressure assumes stock tires. Since some owners switched from RFT to non-RFT, upsized their wheels, or changed their suspension setup, the door pillar numbers don't really apply anymore. Operating tire pressure varies due to preference for comfort vs handling, understeer vs oversteer, tire wear, load (number passengers, stuff in trunk), ratio of hwy/city driving, etc.

In my case, my door pillar numbers are different from the book, the difference being that RFT was the final production decision and the lower door pillar numbers reflect that. Since I switched to non-RFT, I followed the higher numbers in the book (32 and 37 psi). Your preference, tire wear, road condition and weather may vary.

What we do in racing to determine what tire pressure to run is we chaulk the tire on the tread and up around the sidewall. We do a lap to see what parts of the tire is hitting the pavement, and then adjust the pressure.
The stock numbers on the door is a starting point for the load and top sustained speed that you would drive under normal driving conditions.
There has been many good comments here, just pick a dirrection and play around a little. Thats what we all did. You can change the handling characteristics of the car, like if you want the car to feel more spirited in the twisties, try adding a few pounds to the rear tires which will dial in less understeer.
