Hi everyone,

I finally had a sunny day to take some new photos of my 530xi. They can be found in My Gallery. Apart from the lack of a real dipstick (and temperature guage), I love this car !!

First 530xi i've seen with the Style 124 rims on them, looks nice. Question - does the car still look a tiny bit 'raised' due to the AWD, compared to the non-AWD? i.e. how's the wheel gap with the AWD? it looks a bit raised to me, but acceptable.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the support. In answer to one of the comments, my observation is that the 530xi may sit slightly higher than the 530i, but I'm sure that someone else could confirm this and provide the specs. I seem to remember reading that the xi was about 0.5 inches higher than the i model, which to me isn't an issue. The wheel gap looks perfectly fine to me, but I'm not sure how it compares to the gap in the standard (non-sport) 530i. I would guess that if you really like the "lowered" look, you should get the sport package 530i, but I was more interested in the AWD feature for New England winters (the sport package for the 530xi does not involve suspension differences, it only provides the sport seats, which I really like, as well as the shadowline trim, which I like as well). BTW, If anyone is interested in getting wheels like style 124s, make sure that your dealer orders the correct ones for the 530xi, since their offset is different compared to the 530i.

Congrads. Very nice car.

One question--did your dealer allow you to pick and choose the Style 124 rims and all-season tires? Were those offered as part of the sports package?

Here in Canada, if I pick the sports package it only comes with runflats. Hence I went with the standard set of wheels. But yours look better and I would have picked those if they were available.

Thanks- the car as ordered came with style 138 rims and 17" all season radials, which I couldn't swap out or get credit for. Since I liked the style 124s better, I ordered them separately, along with new 18" all season radials, and had both the rims and tires delivered to the parts department of the dealership, even before the car arrived. They mounted, balanced, and installed the new rims on delivery, but now I have an extra set of rims/tires (the style 138s). I might use them for snows, or sell them. I'm a little picky when it comes to wheels, so I could justify the increased price of doing this, but for some others it might not be worth it.
