My Ride: BMW 525i 2004
New owner? Tips?
Just received a 2004 BMW 525i as a gift. It's stock everything and my first question is... gas.
It's a 6 cylinder 2.5, are these decent on gas? It's a decade old car so I want to know what's the best way to squeeze out every bit of gas efficiency as I can.
Also what's the best way to get seamless bluetooth integration, cheap preferable but high quality. (Not one of those FM transmitters... all are garbage).

Does the car have Bluetooth already?
Bluetooth integration depends on your desire for factory and price sensitivity. You can find out what you need in the way of modules and then get them installed and programmed. It will be a serious PITA and expensive - and you'll only have phone connectivity. If it was my car, I'd just put in a Parrot MKi9100. You'll get Bluetooth phone and streaming audio from your phone (Pandora, etc.). You'll need the wiring harness for that car, and then the Parrot just takes over the speakers from the head unit when you get a call. For the non-phone Bluetooth, you can set up the Parrot to output the streaming audio (e.g. Pandora) to use the aux input and get the benefit of the car's stereo and all the speakers. That is, the streaming audio doesn't rely on the Parrot's built in amplifier if you set it up this way.
