Hello everyone. I bought my wife a 2005 545I about a month ago, I saw this forum and decided to join up. I would like to ask some questions if that's cool. It has an auto transmission and when you first start to drive off after putting it in gear it seems to studder or something, almost like your foot slipped of the gas then you hit it again. (make sense?) Anyways what causes this? I just got done cleaning the MAF and will drive it as soon as the rain stops.

Thanks for your help.

Jason

Of course it's cool to ask questions! That's what the forum is about!
There is a SIB (Service Information Bulletin) in one of the recent topics about the shudder you are talking about.
Some one will probably provide the link

You can ask your dealer to update your car to the latest software (or 25.0 or higher), that should fix the shudder

Jason, congratulations on the 545i and to the forums.

I can't answer your AT question, I have a MT. I'll let the experts chime in on this one.

Welcome on board and enjoy the forums!

Good luck sorting the auto. Sounds like Krozi has given you the info you need.
You could also try resetting the auto by using the "25 second trick" -- read more here. That may help, but if its SW related like Krozi implied, you'll have to get a new CIP software load from your dealer.
