You are welcome.
Any one know which voice command is used to save a Voice Phone book entry?
On this list I do not see one.
Thanks

Check out page 159 of the manual (.pdf page 161).

It says to use the command "save name".

Unfortunately, my car won't recognize that command yet. Since my phone is pretty much useless right now, I'm going to wait until they install the new eject box and upgrade the software before I try to figure out things further.

Let me know if that command is understood in your car.

Rudy, thanks. If you look at the new commands given by BMW, I posted yesterday there is no "SAVE NAME" command. That is why I am confused.

Wow. I reduced margins, reduced font to 11 points and still needed seven two-column pages to get all of the voice commands printed. Now, how do you catalog this unwieldy list for use while driving? I am not sure you do.

In this instance, I do believe that BMW went over the deep end with voice commands. I am sure that we will, as a group, develop a more efficient way of utilizing these voice commands. But for right now, I find the list to be overwhelming.

HELP!!

No need to be overwhelmed. I think BMW did a smart thing by programming four or five ways to say the same thing. Once you settle in on what style works for you, many of the commands are simply redundant and not worth remembering. You may find it natural to say things one way, I might find it natural to say things another (you say tomato, I say tomahto).

Rather than try to memorize all the commands, I find it easier to simply say what I think I'm supposed to say -- it usually works. If it doesn't, I ask for help and it reminds me of what I'm doing wrong.

Reading the list is helpful to simply remind you of what is possible using voice. Once you know what you can do (which is almost everything), it simply takes practice and a bit of patience until you get accostomed to a particular command "pattern" that feels right for you.

Thanks, Rudy. I'll have time to play with it next week.
