I heard that the new facelifted E60 has L.E.D rear lamps. I was wonderering whether it's possible to fit these rear lamps on my 2005 BMW 525.
I hope someone could help me with this. Thanks in advance.

This is a big dilema. We'll just have to wait and see once somebody will step up with this upgrade. I'm also very interested and i like the side leds on the rear lamps

On other cars BMW has previously released retrofit kits to do this

You cant just connect the LED ones, you need a retrofit controler.

Im shure they will release a kit soon after the launch

For shure these will be found as retrofit, after a while, ie by Hella.

But these rearlights must also be found as OEM parts at BMW.

Some idiot will smash his/her new E60 a day after delivery

He sent me the lamps, and then after a few days the were strobing like a disco ball. So after a months worth of e-mails he told me to send them back. He also told me to include a receipt for my return shipping of $88.10 so that he would refund it back to me. One month after I sent them back, and many emails, he reponded back to me saying my car wasnt capable of using his leds. Then it took two more months and many, many e-mails for any kind of refund, he was refusing to give me money for shipping charges. At the end he refunded back to me a total of $248.00. My total cost was $476.10, so now i have no LEDs and I am out $228.10!!!! I will right a full thread on this including his e-mails to me promising to refund all shipping charges as soon as I have time, so that no-one else gets scammed like me.
