After checking with Lawrence, I think this is not the HUD option you have for your E60, is called a defi.
Anyone have any idea what it is?? He said it will display the tech just like the M5 but is an aftermarket product.
He will have to confirm this himself as I am still a bit confuse by his post.

Err.... this is a very old (photoshopped) picture.
In green it shows the speed setting of the cruise control and the yellow thing is the optional active cruise control.
Nothing special about it, in real-live it's smaller and it has less contrast....

Same as my HUD, but since I do not have ACC I do not have the far right CAR/HIWAY icon. In color as well. The Std CC is green with the desired speed in digital until you reach the set speed at which time the desired speed number disappears and a speedo needle appears. If disengaged the color changes to orange with last set speed shown.

It's not only an old picture, it's a simulated one. The colors are the same only they're replicas and off a shade or two from the actual HUD.
Okay people, nothing new to see here...please move along...

it's a photoshop..
it's in the wrong position, the contrast is way of the real thing, and the indicators in the instrumentcluster and speedometer are missing, so the car in the picture is actually not fitted with HUD

Here's a real picture of the HUD on a M5.

The M5 have the tech and gear position but regular E60 doesn't.
