Currently running on Continental Sport Contact 2's but wanted to know what else you guys have tried out and whether you are happy with the choice?

How are the Michelins and Pirelli's?

I am looking for non run flats....

I have always favored using the same brand / model tire front and rear. I seem to recall that is also a BMW recommendation.

I find that the contis start off good, plenty of grip, then deteriorate very quickly. Mine last two sets of rears only last me 8K each. Just gone for contis again but are too expensive for what you get (?250 each). Next time i'm going for Falkens.

PS2 or AS2 are the most expensive but probably really good. General Exclaim UHP are highly recommended for price, life, traction.

My last 3 cars came standard with Continental, and although they are a fairly good tire, I am not quite sure they are worth the cost as replacement. The last few tires switches Ive made, Ive moved to Falken and I have no complaints. Good quality, peformance and price. Go to www.discounttiredirect.com and shop around.

Goodyear F1 Asymmetric is a good one ... supposed to replace the F1 GS-3D

Not as pricey as PS2 and Pirelli P Zero (that would be my 2nd choice)

Just read a fresh bulletin about BMW tire recommendations:

Bridgestone, Continental, Dunlop, GoodYear, Michelin and Pirelli.

Your car is running on four tires - be careful and smart about what you buy!

But always same tires on the same axle.
