Hey guys and gals, I have an '06 530xi wagon, well I got the 4x4 and dsc malfunction light on the dash. Seems that the steering angle sensor went bad.. Any "how to" replace it?
I am getting a set of wheels next week and I may want to lower the car, I have the self leveling system in the rear, so I know I can lower the front with springs, how can I lower the back? I heard some guys "zero'ing out the sensor" to lower the back...

Hmm.....you have the wagon and you want to lower it? My advice is to skip that and keep it original, you'll be grateful when you sell it down the road....original is usually best at the end. Lowering the wagon anyway?? Sounds like a compromise with the Misses ha ha! Maybe the X6 would be a better fit, sporty and practical.

HAHA that is exactly it. Yeah I am debating lowering it. I will put the wheels on and see how it looks and rides...
I will post pictures once I get the wheels on...
Thanks

Try posting this in the E61 section also Search is your friend , there are at least 2-3 threads directly involved in this very subject on the first page of the E61 section.
Here is a hint , forget springs... Coil overs and you have to take the car to the dealer to get the Load level suspension in the rear adjusted to inflate lower.
If you searing angle sensor is out and the car is not in warranty you are in for a MAJOR repair bill from what others are saying...well in to the 4 digits.

A modded wagon is just awesome. I saw a grey e61 with the M-Tech body kit and wheels that just looked awesome! If I knew I could have ordered the e61 with a manual, I would have done it..... too late now
