Heated paddles would be nice too.
After driving the 335i with paddles, I realized that the airflow from the vents made the paddles warm, perhaps you could re-aim the vents to do the same?? You delicate flower C!!

I thought of this first and am probably on my way to solve this issue too! What I did was buy a gearshift knob with the light inside, I then put a resistor instead and the gear shift is now nice and warm, but I don't use it because my method is too crude and I fear I may burn something if my values are not right. But hey it work and BMW should read this and implement it too.

So the resistor [instead of the light] generates heat?? Surely that can't be safe? Why not use a heating element of some kind [albeit a small one]. My worry would be the gear knob material itself would need to be designed to handle that sort of heat. Not to mention the wiring would have to be top class in order to prevent damage to the electricals.....

I say this half in jest, but compared to the nice, thick, warm steering wheel, the gearshift knob is cold.

YES YES YES, we need this... I thought mine didnt work on something, but found out it was never made, I like keep my right hand on the knob...

The LCI paddles did help a bunch, I must say!

Well, hmmm, I probably thought of this quite a while ago but if you want to be first that's fine

Seriously, I like your idea of how to accomplish the heated gear shift knob!

I recall on my E36 M3, I had a lighted shiftknob, and after a short while it was warm from the lighting element, so perhaps just buying a lighted shift knob would suffice??
