The BMW Germany website has been updated and now list the 740i/il & 750i/il with pricing and hp...

740iMotor 8 Zylinder
Hubraum 4.000 ccm
KW / PS 225 / 306

750iMotor 8 Zylinder
Hubraum 4.799 ccm
KW / PS 270 / 367

so this says about 306hp for the 4.0 and 367 for the 4.8

now, the question is when does the E60 get these?

How about a 4.8 "crate" motor that we can shoehorn in?!

Question on the rumors of the E60 engine update -- why would they bother to add another model, change the badging and increase the horsepower for the 545 if it would only be for another 30 horses or so? I know they've done this before, but the 545 hasn't been out that long (I've had mine only 8 months) and the performance difference would be minor. It would however, upset a great many of us who own the current model.

I believe the 545 has more than enough power with a 0-60 of 5.3 what more do you need? If you need more get the M5. I really don't care to spend more on a car that does it in 5.1

So let's get this straight is it a totally new design or a "tweaked" motor?

The assumption would be that the 545 would be dropped and replaced by the 540 and 550.....
