Hey Guys,

I am planning on being a new BMW 5 series owner, Im looking at purchasing a 2004 530i and i was wondering what are some known issues with the car? what other things i should know before putting so much money down on this car. Any information would be useful. And incase you guys are curious it has 127,000kms and its mine fopr $20,200 total taxes in. Sounds like a good deal?

if it's an auto- start saving for a new transmission.
Also if there was no work done on suspension - it' about to go too.

Depends on how the previous owner treated the car. It might last along time if the car had proper maintenance and was babied. In the US for that kind of money you can find a 06 CPO 525i with 45-50 thousand miles.

i havent taken it to my mechanic yet but from the dealer (a fairly decent guy in terms of dealers) told me the previous owner is a good customer of theirs and he did baby the car so heres hoping thats true. And i was thinking about getting one transferred from the states up here. Do you think its something i should put more effort into looking into? i hear the fees and bringing them up here is a real pain.

Thats up to you to decide. I don't know how much the fees are but I also do know you have to covert the odo to KM and activate DRL. http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national

good deal!
