Don't get too excited, the creaking will return. The issue is wax getting on the seals where they contact the car. Be VERY careful when waxing the car or the noise will be back...

Sorry, not my intention but I've been down this path. Just keep the contact areas free of wax and you'll be OK. If you do hear the creaking come back, first get a micro firber cloth with some mild soap and water. I use a little bit of Dawn dish soap. Clean the seals and more importantly the painted body where the seals make contact. That has always solved the issue for me and I've never had to resort to putting vasoline or some other lubricant on the seals. Good luck!

Been to dealership 3 times for this problem - they've done all the SIB recommendations...squeaks came back every time.

Solution:
3M adhesive remover and a microfiber towel on all door seams and painted contact areas after every wash

Long time reader, first time poster...

I read a couple of threads that suggested different things to fix the rattle coming from the doors. One of them suggested trying the petroleum jelly as a fix (to the felt.) I had just called the BMW dealership for suggestions and they wanted $170 just to diagnose! So, I went over to Walgreen's spent 4 bucks on the jelly and spent about 5 minutes applying it to the felt. I got in and took it for a drive and all the rattles went away! The jelly works! Now lets see how long it lasts...

BTW I have a:
