After previous CIP installations, the throttle lag seemed to go away, then

after a week or two,it returned. Is this still happening w/ v. 19,v. 20?

I have seen a lot about throttle lag. I don't think I see evidence of any lag with 19.01.01. How noticeable is the lag? And, by lag, I assume, duh, that you mean you push on the accelerator and the acceleration is delayed. How long is the delay?

I thought my engine was running a little off. I did not realize it at the time but I started to leave it in regular mode, not sport mode, around the same time. I was feeling a little old school and wanted slower shifts from my SMG, just like a real manual. I later noticed that the car steered slower, suspension was softer and the engine less responsive. Push Sport Mode button and everything back to normal.

So are you saying overtime if you use regular mode more it'll become slower and slower and more and more lag? and then Using Sports mode will reset everything back to normal even after you go back to regular mode?

Sounds to me like that's what he is saying. And, my experience is somewhat consistent since I always use a combination of DS and manual--and have not notice throttle lag. Maybe our cars computers really do learn our driving habits. If they do, then it's funny that BMW does not publicize this featuire since it is a great one to have--as on my Z06. Drive faster; have a faster car. Drive slower; ....

I dont want it to learn slow driving habbits! And I know it does... BUT I just want it to be as fast as possible everytime! But not necesarily making me driving it that hard all the time. I like to drive slow and smooth normally but when I want ALL the 325hp I want it NOW and not 1000miles later when I re-train the car to be fast again...

Soooooooooooooo hitting sports button on and off I can reset the "learning?"

I was not saying that, but now that you mention it BMW's do have Adaptive Learning on certain functions. I was really just saying that it might have been coincidence that you got a software upgrade and now that winter is here, you might be leaving it in normal mode more often.

Then the new CIP doesn't fix the lag then?

I just had 19.01.02 installed and I don't seem to have the lag anymore. Also, I have RDS (Finally)

It seems like throttle lag is a common problem in E60. I've this problem too on and off. Never experience it in DS mode. As what EBMCS03 posted, if I want the power, I want it now. Not that few sec. delay...those who experience it will know what I mean. Maybe I need CIP upgrade too. 19.01 can really resolve this lag issue???
