Got rearended yesterday when was standing still with the turnsignal on. I was waiting to do a leftturn across the street to the local BMW dealership, where is was going for some reprograming of the voice recognition system. After a few seconds of standing still waiting for oncoming traffic suddenly a third car hits the car that has stopped behind making his car crashing into the rear of my car. Now the rearbumper is damaged and the rear diffuser is hanging lose. The Exhaust tips also got hit and the tube behind the muffler is now bent. The Muffler is also hanging down slightly.

No other visible damage, however are there other damage that I should look out for for that migh not be so easy to notice?? The car is just 2 week old and I want it back as good as it where before.

I' m getting a brand new factory painted rearbumper since the current one is too damaged to repair and also a new rear muffler. Is there a OEM sportmuffler for the 535d that i should opt for instead of the standard one since I?m not paying for any repaircosts/damage?

Sorry to hear it
With regards to the exhaust - I don't think there is currently an sports OE muffler, but you can find out how much yours cost and buy an aftermarket one covering only the difference if necessary (legally)....

Yep, you need to upgrade something in the process to switch the experience from a downer to an upper. Go ahead. You deserve it.

Same thing happnened to me with my last E60. The car was less than 3 months old and another car pushed the car behind me into my car.
I got a brand new bumpter, too.
It still sucks......

I think you need to talk to a lawyer about the pain in your neck.

Auch, glad that you are OK.

The damage do not seems that bad,
but I know that the change of the rear bumper is not enough.

The exhaust system might be damaged a long way up and the
bumper safty system is damaged also.

Go for OEM parts, the best way to go!
