New button on replacement switches/surround

My Ride: 2007 Sapphire Black Metallic 525i. Beige Dakota Leather, Premium package, bluetooth, BMW Assist, Xenon adaptive lights, Sirius radio
The area on driver's door that houses the switches on pre 08s had to be replaced on mine because finish was wearing off.
Now to the left of the switch you use to determine which outside mirror you want to adjust is a button. Cannot find out what it does or why it is there.
Amy ideas?

Yup to fold the mirrors up but I dont think it'll work for US cars... its needs extra wiring and reprogramming
