OK got the car from BMW today they replaced brakes and pads mind you I owned about 20 Beemers and never seen this. There was a tag hanging from the rear view mirror that said this;

AVOID HARSH BREAKING FOR 200 MILES

I am just curious is this nation wide or anyone has seen this besides me?

Yes, I have seen this. When BMW replaced my brake pads, they included this tag in my car, too. I believe they want you to take it easy while the new pads break-in.

Not sure how this will hold hold with your insurance company when you plow into someone that cuts you off. BMW should at least have an asterisk or other disclaimer... also, why you should avoid harsh braking.

only an American could come up with this.

Use a bit of common sense.
