The 545 is really a fantastic car, but that N62 engine has a few known weaknesses, most relating to oil and coolant leaks. If it hasn't happened already, you can expect a seal failure on a coolant transfer pipe that runs from front to back of the engine, through the valley between the two banks. It lasts between about 75k and 125k miles. It's expensive to fix because so much stuff has to come off to get at it. When it happens, have every seal in sight changed on the way in there, including the alternator bracket gasket. I understand that the engine tends to run high oil temperatures, which is partly to blame for the high incidence of seal failures. You can mitigate that to some extent by changing your oil at shorter intervals than the factory-recommended 15k, and avoiding high acidity in the oil, which also is a seal killer. I change mine every 7k or 8k, and the car now has 172k with only one round (so far) of fixing all this stuff. Anyway, I've never regretted buying this car (I bought it new); just giving you a heads-up that there's a few grand in repairs likely in the middle future, unless you DIY all of it. It's a complex DIY that is beyond me personally.
