Guys, I'm sure it's been discussed, but can't find any topics...
How hard do you guys drive your brand new cars? Do you keep them
under 3000RPM for 1000 miles? I always try to avoid a constant speed
with a brand new car, but go sometimes up to 4000-5000RPM...
How careful do I have to be with a 550i?

From one who now owns his first really "spirited" car, I found it very difficult to refrain pushing too hard in its 's rearly days.

It's now easy to say, but if I had do do it again I would have gone easier.

BTW, our rides are similar but I do like your cream beige. I did the natual and probably would have gone beige if I had seen more of it.

Have fun in the new E60 ... in a month of so!

Just drive it and worry about nothing. You'll get as many different responses to this topic as there are members of this board. Enjoy your new car.

All the best

3000 rpm is much lower than BMW's recommendations...

Great color combo! My rule of thumb on new cars, don't hit red line for first 1000 miles but don't be afraid to get close on occasion. I assume you have Automatic Transmission...if so, I'm sure the program won't let you get too crazy. With SMG, I was new to it and accidentally hit red line...a lot!!! Luckily nothing bad happend to me! Post some pictures when you have time.

Thanks guys! It's on the ship, will be here in a couple of weeks! I know I did it too, supposed to be gentle,
but how can you resist?
