Its ok. The BMW staff encourages going at those speeds when you do European Delivery.

Besides acceleration, does the 550 feel any different than the 545 at high speeds?
After 120, my 545's front end gets a bit lighter than what I expect. Does the 550 impove on this and feel more solid?
I definitely feel that there is a significant difference between the two at those speeds. Last year the 545 felt a little bit light/nervous at those speeds and I would back down immediately after hitting the limiter. However, the 550 feels ROCK SOLID and I kept it at top speed for minutes at a time (traffic permitting). I do not know as to what they have done, maybe they have tweaked the suspension, but whatever it is it works. Most of the time when I hit top speed in the 550, there were high speed turns on the autobahn and there was absolutely no nervousness, and I felt completely confident. As good as the 545 is, I think they have definitely made it better.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.

Don't worry, there's not that many roads in the US that you can hit 120 mph on a curve anyway.

545i, 550i, maybe the next V8 for the E60's successor will have 400hp comparable to the next M3's V8!

Ya can't go wrong with an 8!

Hey, the car is yours. Who cares about the break-in period. Do whatever you want with the car.

I rather see a 550 driving like crazy than driving around 60mph and block every car on the freeway.
