Just got a new 530i '05 - SP, PP, Xenons, Step....

Just came from a X5 3.0 manual tranny.

This is my 4th BMW and I love it - I find it to be a great combo of the X5 I had and the '99 328i I had.... Great cars.... (And I love the Active Steering.....)

Some quick questions for you guys....

1. Any way to get Nav after the fact? On the X5 I had, it was nearly impossible as it did not have a screen or any of the hardware. Not sure about the 530 since it seems to already have the place for it (and antenna)

2. Any way to get Sirius put on? I noticed some of the cars had the Sirius prep package. Mine did not.

3. CD changer - I noticed that the CD changer in the manual is listed as in the glove. When going back to BMW to get one put in, do they do it there, in the glove, or in the trunk?

4. iPod your BMW - anyone do this on their 530? Worth it?

5. Wiper sensitivity with Auto Wipers: The manual is very vague as to the sensitivity levels on the wipers when they are on auto. Mine does not seem to change its sensitivity when rolling thru the levels. And the writing on the stalk doesn't mean much. Is the setting at the top, the most sensitive or the least? What do those markings mean?

Thanks for the help.....

How possible? Possible like "anything is possible with enuff money" - or possible like "this is a common upgrade via your dealer - just ask and next time you go in for service they can whip that out, no problem".....

Just wondering. I bought the car off the lot. Very happy with the decision I made, but if I were to order the car, I probably would have ordered a Nav and/or Sirius.

Thanks again....

You need to search the forum. There are ppl who got sirius to work. There is also a *.pdf floating around for the nav retrofit. The nav retrofit is easier than the sirius, AFAIK, but costs more...

If it's too expensive for the retrofit, get the external GPS.. some are pretty good actually..

3) There is a kit that puts it in the trunk, but I have heard some people say they had it put in the glovebox by the dealer

4) there is no kit for the E60 yet, and in the car models that do have it you loose the cd-changer.
