I am still thinking about:

My dealer offers me two choices:
new 525i (06')
and old 530i (05' engine).

Since the 530i engine is fading out, they virtually with the same price tag. So would like to know which one drive better, smoother? quieter?

If you were me, what will you choose? the only difference other than the power-train is the 530i get the bi-xenon light included.

Please help!!!!!!!!

Take the 525 if you are in the states. It's also a 3.0L engine. Much better fuel consumption.

Thanks, I am not in states but Hong Kong.

The engine arrangement is different:

Old Engine(s):
520i>> 2200cc
525i>>2494cc
530i>>297xcc

New Engine(s):
523i>>2497cc
525i>>2497cc (actually, 523i is with a detuned engine)
530i>>297Xcc

So for 525i, it is an 2500cc engine only!!

Provided these, will you change your mind??

Here in Sweden it's the same enginge arrangement.
Then I would go for either the 523 or the 530. But try them all!

Best regards

I have been in the same situation as you?first I was thinking of buying a 530 with the old engine but I changed my mind when I heard of the new 525 with valvetronic. This motor is fantastic. I have compared it with the old 530 engine and I can?t feel any difference between it and the new 525.

Go for the new engine with new technical. You will not regret.

So you mean they run the same, in terms of smoothiness, acceleration and noise?

I would go for the new 525, like others stated..for the engine and new technology. They've probably worked out a lot of bugs/kinks out of the car with later versions.
