My Ride: 2005 545i Sport, Premium, Logic 7, Jet Black, Black Leather, M-Aero Kit, 15% (very dark) Tint, Eichbach Lowering Springs, Red Brake Calipers, Radenergie R-10's, Michelin PilotSport2 in 245/35/20 and 285/30/20, Rolled Fenders, and a nifty Graco Baby Car Seat.
Next Up: Xenon fogs, Eisemann Exhaust, iPod Interface, Comfort Seats.
My wife got her 2007 550i sport today (TiSilver with black leather), and it's now parked in our garage next to my 2005 545i sport (JetBlack with black leather and M Aero Kit).
I've noticed some differences immediately:
-550i seats (comfort seats now standard with Sport Package) are terrific; I much prefer them to the "sport" seats in mine. The adjustable side bolsters really hold you in place.
-550i has a much thicker steering wheel. I feels much more substantial, and I much prefer it. It is not the M wheel, just a thicker meatier wheel.
-550i carpets are not absolutely black as mine are, they are charcoal grey, and this is particularly noticable against the absolute black mats they have. I like my absolute black carpet matching my absolute black mats better.
-550i air vents have a thin silver toned stripe in them. In terms of aesthetics, it makes no difference.
-550i has ipod interface and aux-in standard (OUCH!)
But so far the drive feels the same in terms of power. Don't notice a difference yet as hers has only a few miles it and it's too early to push it.

Sounds cool. Does the new one have the actual integrated iPod interface?

My Ride: '04 545iS 6 spd, bought new via eBay, 11/05; Blk/Gry, Cold, L7, PDC, BMW Rear seatcover for pets.
First "Bumwa" was a new 1971 2002. High performance 5s since 1987. Beamer motorcycles too, currently on an 07 BMW K1200 GT; also a Moto Guzzi 1000 SP III.
Would be interesting to have the two pollution-control inspected side by side. I'd love to see what great accomplishments they achieved that they needed to rush the intro of the 07 models (allegedly owing to CAR
and screwing the rest of us out of 6+ mos depreciation. What a fraud. But then, BMW has long run in terror of the Greenies...pathetic.
