Surprisingly, my mechanic said the same thing about Tirerack.....has to rebalance countless sets they get, either direct or from customers who bring them in. I didn't expect to hear that. All should be good now. I am not worried about the wheels I currently have. They are hubcentric and appear to be good quality after-market rims, if there is such a thing.

Dave, those A7's are so nice and easy to clean too, couldn't believe it!

Almost didn't miss the 172's there for a minute

Yeah...I have already wiped them down a few times. They take about 1/10th the time to clean. But I can't say I don't miss the 172's.

DrLev99,

What was the reason why you sold your M5 to C? The last time I read about your M5 was when you drove home the M5 from the dealership.

Tirerack is paying your mechanic's bill right? That's the one thing I'll give them credit for - they always paid to have the issue fixed.

No doubt! I already sent it in.

I am pretty sure I'll be returning my Sport Edition A7's and Dunlop D3's to Tirerack. The joy of driving has gone away as a result of this experience. I will assume it's the wheels rather than the tires, but I did have one tire looking a bit like an egg on the last balance. The ride is miserable.....bumpy, shimmying again in steering wheel, thumping under seats, etc. etc. It's like my old xi was reborn.

I am hoping to go 18" OEM 123's if TR will approve the return. There's a set on here for sale at Eurorev, so we shall see. I think I am going to try the Blizzak LM25's instead this next time around.

They are NOT coming through for me, well not like I'd like. They won't replace the whole set unless the whole set is screwed up. They are allowing me to send all 4 wheels back to them, but only for them to "troubleshoot" the problem. Then they expect to send them back to me, replacing any problem wheels or tires that exist.

Oh well, what can you expect after all? I think at this point I only have one bad wheel/tire. Let's hope it's just one.

Dave - Sorry to hear about your wheel issues again. I can't believe you are going through this again.

As for the LM-25's, good choice. I never had the Dunlops, but all I can say about the Blizzaks in the snow is WOW!

Yeah....my wish of having some winter OEM rims has vanished since TR won't give in as far as a return. They want to "troubleshoot" the problem by having me send the rims/tires back to them. They will probably give them another Road-Force balance, deem them all to be PERFECT and then ship them back to me.

I talked to a CS rep today...what a biatch she was!!!

On the bright side, my "high engine oil" warning fixed itself overnight as the car slept, after the oil sensor was changed last Friday. I had to have them close the PUMA case they opened on it. So, at least I have that going for me.
