For those of you in the market for winter applications, here are some shots of my new 18" Dunlop Winter Sport 3D's on Sport A7 wheels..Got these @ Tirerack.

Initial Thoughts:
To-date (on cold and dry roads) I've been exceptionally happy
Firm not bumpy/jolting (and not too loud either)
Very good at higher speeds
Was just able to take one of my fave low speed curves @ speeds I would approach with my summer 19's (no problems at all)
So far, they compare quite favorably to the Blizzak LM22's I had on my E39 (and I really like those too)
Happy the A7's fit the Roundel center caps too

Want to thank Doc for talking me into the 18's..

Pix are not glam, and my car is dirty -- so look past that please

It's amazing the difference 19's make over 18's. It looks like a completely different car. I'm dreading the day (which is coming up shortly) when I have to take off my 20's and throw my 19" stock wheels with Blizzaks on there. It's going to suck.

Here's a few pix of the winter storage totes and felt centers...

Purchased these at the local BMW shop. Totes and felt centers are purchased separately..

I saved the shipping cardboard rounds from Tirerack and placed them in between the tires for max protection.

Winter wheels make you appreciate the summer 19/20" all the more for sure...But I'd hate like hell to be driving in the winter w/out em

Glad to see the A7s on an e60. I also have some A7s going on this Weds for winter.

I've heard that you should store seasonal tires in sealed plastic bags, like thick garbage bags to keep the ozone out, and keep the tire oils from drying out. Basically creating a tire atmosphere. Then wrap with totes or a tire stack sleeve.

Anyone else hear this?

Hadn't heard that one before...I would want to create an atmosphere where things can breathe, and avoid condensation/moisture build-ups.

Doc -- the totes are 2/$20 and the felts were about $38 for 4..I believe that was before the small discount I received for being a bmwcca member. Seemed reasonable vs the cost of scratching a 172!
