I just thought i'd share the thoughts that came to me today...
Today i was walking in town, and i caught the rear end of what was a lexus es-something, and for the first time i wasnt sure at first glance what it was... i thought it might have been an f10 for a second and when i realized it was a lexus i felt a mix of two feelings.
1) I was completely disappointed and disgusted at the new f10, as BMW has now gone and made something that is no longer different than the rest, but instead it looks just like other luxury vehicles.
2) I now couldnt be more proud that i own an e60! it is my first car and i will never forget the e60 and know i will never buy an f10, and as long as BMW makes the 5er look like a lexus, i, nor my kids, will ever have a 5 series post e60. and nevermind that the new m5 doesnt have the mighty mpower V10, my next car will definitely be (if budget allows) the e60 M5 and i will keep it forever or until a na V10 returns to the m5.

+1,000!!!
The F10 is such a disappointment! I was hoping to upgrade in 2011 but now I'm going to keep my E60 until something better comes along...which may be a while. I don't mind waiting

See you cant judge the F10 or the e60. They are both different cars, and every person has a different opinion and different point of view. Other people dont see things that you see, and you dont see things that other people see. So no one can criticize.

Don't be too quick to judge. I for one (and I'm sure many others will agree) was an E60 hater at first. I remember VIVIDLY seeing the E60 for the first time back in 04? and I was absolutely disgusted with the look. I recall reading articles of how BMW fanatics were outraged by the new look. And then I started seeing it on the road more and more and finally it grew on me. Now I think it's absolutely gorgeous and I ended up buying one. The F10 is different. It's gonna take a few months or even a year for me to admire it, but I'm pretty sure I will.

E60
spoted a few F10 on the street, i noticed if it is in white color it looks more like a 7 series
but if in dark color somehow it looks like a 3 series..
either way it is still a 5 series, a well blend of luxury and sport in 1 car..

C'mon guys, seriously. The E60 at least tried to be different. But, the F10 wiped out anything striking from its design and became dull and generic, just like all the others. Perhaps BMW swung 180 on this design because of the history of the Bangle butt and was afraid to take chances again so they went the conservative route.
One thing I'll give to the F10, the rear looks great, but that's where it starts and ends. :/
They're definitely holding back and it's a shame. If they can design cars like this:
http://www.google.co...l=&oq=&gs_rfai=
Then, I would love to see some of that DNA in the 5.
Some say the 5 looks like a 7 and a 3...that's EXACTLY what's wrong with BMW! It proves that they basically have followed what THE SAME DIRECTION that all the other car makers are doing! Instead of making each model look distinct and unique, they are basically clones of each other but built in different sizes: small, med and large (3, 5, 7). Why do car makers do this? It's cheaper to manufacture a small/med/large model than 3 independent models.
It used to be that each model was unique in its design, which is the way it should be since they target different demographics.
I do not want to drive a medium-sized 7! I don't want to drive a car that could be confused with the type of car whose owners need to use Viagra!
