Need some help, car wont start
Hey guys, hoping to see if anyone could shine some light on my problem. e60 530i.
So the car wont turn on, i connected my diagnostic tool to see the current information and notice no rpm signal. I removed the intake manifold and removed the crank sensor. No buildup but bought a new one and replaced it. Still getting the same results with the new crank sensor. So i removed the IM again to test the power/ground on the plug and its good.
Only thing left would be the signal wire which connects to the DME
Is there a way to test the DME besides going to the dealership?

Sorry I left out some information. It cranks but wont start. I removed the crank sensor plug and the car starts right up but dies because of the sensor not plugged.

I would assume with fact that it started w/o the crank sensor plugged in, it would eliminate the possibility of being the starter or battery. Found a guy with the BMW diagnostic tool but unsure when he 'll be free to come scan the car. Most likely in 2 weeks. I'm hoping to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Any suggestions?

Have you checked your Integrated Voltage Supply (IVM) module for faulty relays/blown fuses? It's the black box with multi-colored external fuses, in the e-box with the DME.
