Price seems way too high for the mileage and year. Keep looking around.

Sounds like a good price, but not necessarily a great price given the mileage. On any BMW with some miles on it, you will need to be wary of the maintenance needs. Unless you can do some moderate maintenance on your own, a high mileage BMW may not be the best choice.

As far as an '04, my 525 has been rock solid (75k miles and nothing but very routine maintenance). The only very consistent issue i've heard on the larger engine e60's is the high pressure fuel pump (HPFP). The 525 and I beleive teh 530 did not use the HPFP, but I think the larger v8's did.

Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for the info Chris.

I have worked on my last 3 BMWs and really have not needed major repairs.. Brakes, fluids, plugs, coil boots, regulators, valve cover gaskets, some eletrical..

isnt that bmw located in southern california? i think i saw that e60 while i was shopping around for one. i noticed its been for sale for a while now. you would think for that price, although the high mileage it would have been sold by now, maybe theirs something people find out about the car when they check it out.

Yes, it's in the LA area. I don't live there, but my uncle already went and did an inspection. He says it's in pretty good shape.

I've only been looking for an E60 for about a month, but I had a feeling it's been for sale for a while. And that is why I'm surprised the seller hasn't wanted to haggle much. Of course some guys now a days have an "internet price" and that's the price. I'm really in no rush, but I do like the car.
