Hey guys, it's been a while since I have posted on here but I keep having trouble with the way my transmission behaves. I know this has been discussed before many times but I keep reading about it slamming.

My problems are this:

I am cruising on the highway doing 60, I will exit the highway, coasting then slow to a rolling stop. The car will go back into 1st gear (no problem there) but then will hold the 1st gear till 3000-3500 rpm before shifting into 2nd gear which is not a smooth shift. I would not be accelerating hard at all (no reason to hold the gear that long).

Then at random times while driving around town the transmission would do the same thing where it would hold 1st gear till about 3500rpm then drop it into 2nd gear then it will quickly upshift to 3rd then 4th.

I had my software updated last year (i think v18) because I have had this problem since I got the car.

MY car is 2/05 build.

Thanks for your help guys.

Jon

This has been discussed many times on the forum. You need 19.x. However, you will get 20.x (the latest version) at tthe dealers which has its own set of xmission problems. I wish I hadn't upgraded to 20.x a couple of weeks ago.

Jon,

Were you in DS mode? DS mode shift very late from 1st to 2nd, and quickly to other gear to get to cruising speed ASAP.

Best Regards.

I know this stuff has been posted alot in the past so I apologize for the reposting. I was not in DS mode, just full auto. When i shift to tip mode the tranny is great no complaints.
