2007 525i 3.0L 6 cyl.
I'm having trouble getting the intake manifold out of the way, there appear to be 2 hoses, one at the back end and one underneath that goes to the oil tank?
Any help is greatly appreciated! Need to change my starter out!

Those 2 hoses are part of the crankcase ventilation/oil separator.
One hose goes from valve cover to the oil separator (under the manifold) and the other hose goes from oil separator to the oil pan (aka return hose).
At the end of those hoses, there is a plastic ring, Pinch real hard on the ring and the hose will detach itself.

Thanx for the reply! Got the one underneath off, but the one on the back end isn't budging!
Without the manifold off, I can't see how I can access the starter.
This sucks! I really don't want to tow it to my Indy with my tail tucked between my legs!

That hose is connected to to valve cover almost against the firewall. Keep at it, it will come off.
Worst case scenario - just cut off the hose and get a buy a new hose. Although I didn't break it, I bought a new one and replaced it.
