Need Help Replacing Part
Hey Everyone,
Today I was trying to remove the cross brace (Part # 51617046555) from my car and stripped the head of the T45 bolts. I tried drilling the heads to remove it and it worked, but when I tried removing the center bolts, (located near the firewall / cabin air filters) I drilled into the "nut" the T45 bolts were attached to. Do you guys know what part number it is and how to replace it? Thank you |
Is the stripped "nut" a loose item? If not just heli-coil (or equivalent) the thing.

Sorry for the delay. Here are some pictures of what I'm talking about. I drilled into the "nut" diagonally and the bore isn't round anymore.https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/5series...0495fd4784.jpg

I couldn't see these nuts on realoem.com - but I was looking at a 530d.
If a 21/64th (8.3mm) drill is a tight fit in the hole or better it can be re-coiled (assuming there is enough meat there). Any decent shop could do it. Or ebay for about $15. |
