take a flathead screwdriver wrapped with a microfiber towel, and you want to pry the roundels off (hood and trunk) from the edges. there are 2 prongs beneath the roundel, 1 on each side. some place painters tape around the roundel for extra security so as to not scratch the paint. as for the steering wheel roundel, its part of the airbag. the aftermarket steering wheel roundel sticks onto the OEM one. hope this helps.

so do the new emblems just pop on or is there some kind of clip to it?

Yes, there are two pins on the hood and trunk Roundel that secure them. Use a credit card or some other protection between the paint and emblem when you use a flat blade screw driver to lift them or risk scratching the paint.

If it wasn't clear - regarding the steering wheel airbag - that Roundel cannot/should not be removed. There are replacement pieces that stick over the original.

If you don't want the risk in scratching your paint or messing up you can stick on stickers over it, that's what I did. It matches the paint as well, it comes with all four wheels, steering wheel, and back and front emblem stickers. http://www.bimmian.com/60/ROU/ Oh yeah if you want some shadow emblem this is where I get mines from too.

Just pry them off with a screw driver....be careful though. I would use a towel to protect the paint...

Is it double sided tape? How would you install it when you had to pry it off, unless its clips.

There's no double sided tape. All you do is line up the two prongs behind the new emblem with the two holes in the trunk/hood and press down firmly. As mentioned above, make sure you tape around the emblem as well. Use a microfiber towel around the flathead screwdriver and a credit card in between the screwdriver and the trunk/hood when prying off the old emblem. I used an old CD versus the credit card, works the same. I didn't have any problems/scratches.

Don't use a screw driver or credit cards, that's a scratch wating to happen. Simply slip a length of nylon packing banding under the badge and gradually wriggle it out. Did it myself last week
