Here is wat happen to my ride...I have an 04 530i. The problem I'm facing now is the electrical parts(I assume it's the electrical failure). I'm not sure wat might have cause it or if I did anything to it, but now the car would not stored any memories...meaning none of my options seem to work. These option include the seating...it would not return to my setting if someone else set it differently. Second is the radio...once I turn the ignition off and leave the car for about a minute and went back to start the car again...it would not play the same station or track that I was on before leaving the car. Third, my keys stop working at the same time that all the other functions failed. Now I have to manually lock and unlock the car with the key. All the lighting seem to be working just fine. Beside those mentioned above, the car is in great condition. I have checked all the fuels and all check good. So wat am I facing with? Can anyone please help me!!!

I believe the key tells the car which position the seat should be in...As far as the radio goes, I have no idea...This is one of the fears I had when I had my car...These cars rely on the electrical system so much, that when something goes wrong it could end up being very expensive...

Check the battery condition. Have you replaced the battery yet ? 04 530i, it is about time to get a new battery.

+1 battery. Check to make sure it is seated correctly first if it's not too old. In addition, check all your fuses as well. Sounds like a pretty simple issue.

Did you check the rear end of the car for water issues on the electronics?
Look under the spare and on either side ( under Batt on right...)

Did you try charging the battery in your key?

You will usually have a clock reset when your battery is about to expire. The FOB must be recharged every now and then but it also has a replacable battery inside it, a common wristwatch type that you can pick up at most stationary shops. I believe there is an illustrated procedure on this site.
