Can I break through the barrier underneath rear window speakers?

If you had no metal wall how did that speaker fit inside there? I haven't removed my backplate yet. There are several small holes on backplate perimeter and I poked with a screwdriver and heard metal so I presume there is a metal wall there.

The speaker is in a subwoofer box in a trunk against the backplate of the backrest.

Can I get your email address to email you a schematic I have of the trunk. Maybe you can explain to me what I need to look at.

So you had to tear through the trunk material to expose your speaker? I live in California. Do cars in USA have different designs internally?

I cut my ski pass on my own too... I left the seat in the car when I did it, though. I measured both sides to make sure I knew where I wanted everything and then drilled a couple holes in either corner and then used a recip saw to cut the square ski pass. This, of course, is with the pretty plastic piece out of the car. I then cut a similar hole in the black plastic piece. Lastly, I covered the entire black plastic piece with black speaker carpet basically covering my newly cut ski pass hole right back up. The idea is that the ski pass is there allowing bass into the car but, since I drive with that back arm wrest down, I can't actually see into the trunk because that carpet is there as something more attractive to look at than a hole into the trunk. Also, I didn't want warm air from the trunk seeping into the car in the summer next to the kids in the back seat. I'll grab a couple pics tonight and upload.

The wall you see in my last pic (the trunk pic), is the backplate of the backrest.

I see the wall behind your speaker and it looks carpeted like the rest of the trunk interior.
