I need a pretty way to run 12VDC to a cigarette lighter plug in device located on the driver side of my car so I don't have the dang cord running down my dash to the center console. I do see on the passenger side there is one in the foot well. It would be sweet if there was one on the driver side also. So what's a pretty way to get this done? Thanks in advance.

My Ride: 2006 550i sport pak. all the other goodies..
MODS: M5 front, sides, aFe throttle body spacer, RPI Red scoop, amber angle eyes, powder coated sport rims, tinted tail lights. smoked side blinkers, color of car and rims roundels, real carbon fiber roof spoiler, 550i number flat black, LED license plate lights, MTX 12' sub, dyno mat, tinted Windows, flat black grill, flat black exhaust tips, light smoke headlight tint, foged out eyelash, velocity booster.
the one under the foot well on the passenger side... i have my v1 radar hooked to that one and its on my driver side visor, hmm how did that work??. you can use a long phone line and push it in to the head liner and its all hidin
now im not sure what your trying to hook up.. but that worked for me

If it were even possible, I would think it would be too intrusive, I mean running cable all the way down there may get tangled and in the way when you need to hit the gas or whatever.
I would say use the cigarette lighter since it's 12 volts as well. More convenient that way.

What are you trying to accomplish/route? It is possible to do it cleanly, you just have to remove the panels for both the passenger and driver side, and fish the wire(s) through the back. Have done it a few times myself for other people.

i'm just trying to get 12v over to the driver side because i'd rather run the wires down that side instead of down the center of the dash to the console. your idea sounds promising. would you provide at bit more details please?

ooooooooh no. i did that before and there wasn't enough current for my radar detector. plus this is not for a radar detector though. i have an accelerometer that needs to be mounted low.
There is way more current than you will ever need to run both a radar detector and an accelerometer running behind that panel.

maybe i tapped into the wrong wire, but i'm not going up there again so it's a moot point. 22ga wires can only handle so much current anyways, not to mention it was clearly evident that my detector wasn't getting enough current. high end radar detectors have more current draw than cheapy ones. but i'm sure you knew that.
