I am eyeing this BMW CPO , .. very sharp car and fits into my budget... however It doesn't have the sport package..
The BMW with the sport package is almost 10K more...

Can I just change the wheels, springs and sway bars and have it perform as a sports package ?

Opinions..

please

I am close to making my decision

thanks !

You can but it's a fairly big job and won't be cheap if you are using genuine original new parts. You should also tell us your location as it could potentially make a difference. In addition to the wheels, springs etc, the sport package also (Depending on car age and region) gives you other things like a full body kit, dechrome, different seats, different steering wheel, etc etc.

changing the above will have a MARKED improvement in handling over stock. I'm just missing the sway bars and still go round corners trying to keep in my seat ! not to mention the looks will improve

go fot it !

I have a 04 not sports and have change the 19" wheels and H&R sway bar and tower bars and most importen is the sprint booster.
I have not driven a sport 04, but I can tell you this, my frends say the handing is like driving a 3.0 car with a very stiff ride around corners.

if you just upgrade the sway bars to H&R it becomes other new car and alive.

for me I dont like to change things all at once cos you would not know how good or bad the item is.
I upgrade a item and drive it for a month or so then do the next mod. But if you live farway then you cant do what I am doing.
have to do it all in 1 go.

for the sport you get more than just Handle, just the sport steering wheel will cost you arm and a leg

If you upgrade everything (shocks, struts, sways), many will argue that it will handle even better than the OEM sport package. You won't get the benefits of active suspension, but as long as you don't hit too many pot holes, it won't matter!

Doing it in 1 shot will be the most cost effective.
