Have a 2009 535 xdrive which I bought in early August. It has until end of October on the maintenance warranty and then just CPO.
I got an email from the dealer that said the car had contacted them and that I should schedule service. I knew the oil change was going to be due, but the email also said spark plugs. I don't mind if they change them, that will just mean I don't have to do it for that much longer.
My question is, do the spark plugs really need to be changed at 45k miles?
If they say that they don't need changing I will just save the email and if they tell me in a few months they need to be changed I will argue that they should have been changed when the car told them in the first place.
What is the normal lifespan of the spark plugs, and are they stock platinum or iridium?
Thanks!

The N54 eats plugs. My deceased 335i had three sets of plugs within 100k miles. My current car was in for service at 48k miles and the plugs were changed at that time. RealOEM.com shows BOSCH ZGR6STE2. I found a match at .
