Default Need advise HELP!

I have a 2004 545i with 130k miles......Ok so the other day I went up to the mountains in Colorado, elevation 9000 feet, I know that don't matter....when I was driving back to Denver, at a stop light my car stalled, loss of power and died, I started it back up to move over in the shoulder but was real sluggish and no power..... Once I was on the shoulder I checked the the oil stick and it showed no oil....but there was 1/2 cup oil where I first stalled..... I didn't start again and had the car towed to my house....I jacked up the car and my first initial thinking was I seized the engine, but a master mechanic that I was talking too said that the computer shut down the motor safe mode.... He wanted me to turn the motor manually from the crank I believe, if it turns, then to top off oil and fire it up....after reading on Google, I'm thinking either the computer did shut down the motor to prevent damage from low oil or the fuel pump went bad...... I pulled the oil, screw and no shavings or metal shards.......Anyone know how I can find the fuel line on the motor to see if it's the fuel pump....of course after I manually turn the motor....also does anyone know where the ignition coil is? I was told that I can disconnect the coil and fire the car, the car won't fire up but the oil pump will get the oil up and around the engine, thus lubricating it then I can reconnect and fire it up? The fuel pump is original factory pump also....how do I know the fuel pump is bad?......any thoughts on this? Thanks guys

if it was low on oil, just refill it and fire it up again. this is no different than getting a oil change and restarting your car.

It's been leaking oil for some time....I think it's coming from the oil back stop against the alternator..... I don't think its a busted block.
