Looks like you parked too close to the line.
Whilst its close its not OVER the line, despite which close or not that doesn't mean a brain donor can drive into the side of your car care free, if the space was tight they should have been responsible enough to drive to another space with adequate room, this equates to me at least to "Driving without due care and attention".

If the posted photos are your only evidence, then it's far from conclusive that the CRV was responsible for the damage to your vehicle. In the photo the CRV bumper has only one scratch/mark but your door has been damaged in two strips approx six inches apart. This does not match the CRV bumper damage. Are the white strips on your BMW the undercoat or paint left from the vechicle that did the damage, if it's the later then it does not match the silver paint from the CRV.

I'm sorry to say that you may have to suck this one up.

I would never turn this in to my carrier. It is not catastrophic so fix it yourself. These things happen. My carrier would most likely require me to pay for the damage out of my deductible ($2500). Then I would have a claim on my record for this small repair. I'll save the few claims they give me, before they terminate and black list me, for catastrophic damages.

Well he is on the line, may not of happened if he was more centered, just saying. Hope everything works out. That scratch may buff out. I was hit going 45 but some idiot who came into my lane, the entire side was scratched and looked horrible. It did not dent at all and was able to use some rubbing compound and completely remove it, Looks like nothing happened. On the part where its down to the metal you could probably have a shop touch it up.

Edit:Found a pic of what I buffed out.

Sorry to read about this accident unlimited90

The scratches on your car don't look like they came from the Honda, more like hitting
a concrete wall or something.

If the scratches came from the Honda, the paint of it should be found on your car.

I know, because about the same happened to my '99 320Ci.
I got the sob to pay based on the paint marks on his and my car.

A witness statement goes a long way an insurance company. More important than a police report since a cop did not actually see the incident.

alright, thanks for all the advice. i have decided to take care of it myself as its not worth the hassle. consider me unlucky!

as for tex_phil, i know i push it close to the line. the parking space is limited and if the car next to your right push it close to his left line, u gotta do the same. basically, u get to choose if you want to risk yourself getting a door ding from the driver's door or passenger's door. for me, i pick passenger because chances are there are no passenger sitting on the car in your left. however, if my parking skill is your concern, please don't worry. i have trained myself by parking well in a third world country with minimal parking space and no parking lanes to assist. LOL.

anyway, yea i am able to get most of it out as the scratch is not that deep. the only thing left are some minor dent that i have no idea how to pull it out.

Too true. Recently I parked next to the cart return at Target so that at least the passenger side could not get dinged. We're getting out of the car and there is a crash from that side of the car. I look over...husband is profusely apologetic. He had forgotten about it and slammed the door into the rail. Chipped the paint. .... ..

I'm thinkin'...you just can't win Stuff is gonna happen. Especially on a college campus! Good luck getting it all fixed up.
