My Ride: 535i cold weather
Hi guys,
I've got a 2008 535i that has a rough idle, hesitation, a rattling sound and throws some engine codes. P0171, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0300.
After some research on this forum and Bimmerfest, I'm thinking it is this DISA valve. I don't have confidence that I could get this done right in the time I have available. I took it to a little service center that says they specialize in German imports. They tell me it is one of the pre-cat O2 sensors and quoted me $1300 to do both pre-cat O2 sensors.
So does this seem right? Is that a fair price? What should I do if this doesn't fix it?
Thanks in advance,
-Pat

well, all of those P03XX codes are engine misfire codes; 301 is on cylinder 1, 302 is on cylinder two, you get the idea. P0300 references a random misfire. I'm not sure why someone would want to replace oxygen sensors when four out of 5 fault codes reference misfires.
how old are your plugs? how old are your coils? with that many misfire codes, id start by looking at ignition components, not DISA valve and certainly not 02 sensors.

My Ride: bmw 550i E60 M sport 2006 model mid night blue
Gurus,
My BMW 550i E60 is cranking but not starting.
I diagnosed it and i has the following errors.
1. AOB8 Hall sensor start/stop button ,key engaged
2. AOB 2 suppy terminal 30E, 30
3. AOB6 selector-lever interlock
Basically i got the gearbox removed and put back and the car has:
1. not been able to engage the gear lever after its switched on and brake step on.
2. cranking but not starting..plugs not sparking either
3. key not engaging nicely.
Please help urgently.
