Wasn't one DVD update supposed to be included free or was that just a rumour? I remember hearing that a lot back in the day.

Thats what the Sales Manager told me yesterday. Navtek certainly did not make that offer.

I think I remember getting one free update on the E39 so it'll be nice if they do it again...

Back to the regularly scheduled thread...

I just called my local service center, and they quoted $225 and the part number is 6590-0-398542.? It is apparently for the e65, but they said that it would work.? I'd love to confirm this before shelling out the $225...

$199 from Navteq direct for the US and Canada Version. If all you want is a regional map, you can order it for $129

The part number i listed before isn't any good. It's for the 7 series, and didn't work in my car. Of course, my dealer knew nothing about it. Soooo frustrating.

Soo, while the NavTeq website shows an update, I can't find anyone at BMW that does.

But the Navtech page says "Release 2005.2 is currently available, but can not be ordered from this site at this time" - where did you find this?

It's not written well, because it DOES say it can not be ordered from this site..."New updates are now available for your BMW DVD navigation system. Release 2005.2 is currently available, but can not be ordered from this site at this time. To order your new DVD update please call 1-888-NAV-MAPS (1-888-628-6277) or contact your local BMW dealer." So while you can not order from the site, you CAN order it by calling the number.

Has anybody called Navteq to ask for a free upgrade? On my E39, I had to call to get the free upgrade copy when a new version came out.

I tried that before asking for the price. They had no clue, and said that if it were true, I would have to go through my BMW dealer. I can assure you if it is true and I go through my BMW dealer, they will be as equally clueless as Navteq.

I agree, my 2004 map and guidence on my current 545i still sends you to the rightside of 287 in Westchester County NY to get you on 87 toward the Tappan Zee Bridge for those of you familiar with that area. That whole areas access roads were re-configured a couple of years ago so that you now do just the opposite and bear left on 287 to get to the bridge. This can really screw you up if you were not aware of the change as the Nav Lady says "go right". I am really courious to see if the new 545i I am to take delivery on later next week (Approx. April 1 build) has an updated DVD with the proper map and directions, based on this thread saying a new DVD may now be available. Will advise later next week.

In DE, it doesn't have route 1, a 4 lane highway which was opened some years ago... embarrasing.
