What is it that you want to upgrade exactly. And what is an are system? Not sure what that stands for.

That disc updates only the operating system of the Navigation system. Its only for cars without iDrive (except the 7 Series which is a half way house between our iDrive and the older cars). With the new iDrive based cars all updates can only be performed by the dealer via the PROGMAN update.

Close. The update he is referring to is for I-Bus cars with satnav, not MOST bus cars. Cars with MOST bus WITHOUT iDrive cannot be upgraded via this method either.

It sounds as if you are saying that the 7er iDrive CAN be upgraded this way ("for cars without iDrive excpet the 7 Series...). I don?t believe that is the case.

The 7 series with the iDrive CAN be upgraded this way. Trust me I know because I've done it myself! The 7 series is the exception to the iDrive world. It doesn't even use the Professional Navigation DVD but the High version which is used on the MK4 I-BUS cars.

That?s why I was asking. Danke.

This will get more interesting since the F01 7er will have an entirely NEW iDrive interface and system.

Can I update my 2004 road maps DVD with a more recent one ?
And do I need to specifiy whether its Business or Professional ?I have UK car with Media pack, so I'm guessing mine is Business Nav.

Please could you confirm both questions for me. Thanks.
