Navigation stuck on a past starting point

Navigation stuck on a past starting point
Hi
Today I tried to use my navigation for the first time
I loaded where I want to go but it began the trip at a previous stating point from the previous owner
I deleted all past trips but it still starts at the same past point
does anyone know how to clear it to start at where ever i am?
Any ideas would be great

years 2004 to 2008 - press the on/off volume button and the cd eject button and hold.The CCC system will re-boot just like your PC a home
