Well...to make a long story short - Nav cannot be installed.

I cannot believe how this could have possibly happened...

I initially called BMWNA ant they said it could be done.
I spoke to an SA at my local BMW dealership said it could be done.
Parts were ordered.
I dropped off my car and they loaned me a 325 wagon (wtf?!?!?)
They took apart my car - tried installing it - could not find a cable required to install it - they had to file a PUMA case.
They filed a PUMA case because they obviously didn't know what they were doing.
From the PUMA case, they found out from BMW it could not be performed.

In the process they broke some trim - so they are going to replace it under warranty..

I am going to get my car back tomorrow - what do you think the chances are that my car will look, feel, and sound like it did before I dropped it off?

How could have all these resources not know it could not be done? Taking apart my dash was totally unnecessary! (I'm praying it will look like it did when I dropped it off - if not, I'm raising hell!)

Sorry for your disappointment. We were all hoping you would be successful.

Do you know what cable was missing? Was it the one that connects to the CCC? I would be interested to know if you could find out.

Bah!! I just talked with my SA and he said the same thing. Though he said, that BMW will have the retro fit by mid-year. So hopefully that's true. If I knew this, I would of just ordered my car with Nav in it. I definitely asked the sales associate and he said yes.

Makes me very angry.

I just received my car - everything looks just the way I delivered it...what a relief!

The official problem as listed in the final work order was:

UNABLE TO INSTALL CCC-NAVIGATION DUE TO NO OPTION 6UA (PREWIRING FOR CCC) INSTALLED. REFER TO BULLETIN 84 10 04.

Where are the options that are installed located? I know some cars have it in the glove box on a sticker. Is there a special BMW location?
