i have chosen options for the 2 programmable buttons: one to turn off the display and the other to mute the sound.

how can you have navigation to repeat the last instructions?

That's an interesting question and I just checked the manual. It doesn't say anything else than pressing the diamond button on the steering wheel. I have not seen any position in the nav menu where it said "repeat last instruction", so I would say it's not possible.

The button on the steering wheel can do it only, I guess.

But if you NEED it, because you didn't paid enough attention to it or because it wasn't loud enough, you could just deactivate and activate it, so it has to plan the route again. So the last instruction will be the first one. But by looking at the display you will see the arrows and/or the map...

Will be able to change it with version 12 software.

Maybe version 12 added another option somewhere in the nav screens that allows a repeat last instruction? Maybe there is a voice command available to repeat the last nav command?

On nav pro the diamond button on the steering wheel is not programmable, it is to repeat and mute the voice instructions from the nav.
But someone posted that the software version 12, what just came out, allows programming of this button too.
Obviously ethanbmw has the nav pro (since he is in the US) and the software update to version 12.
It seems BMW forgot about the implementation of a repeat last instruction in the nav menu for those who program the diamond button with something else after the software update. The manual allready says both buttons are programmable (even if you don't have s/w 12), so maybe BMW noticed that this position is missing in idrive and designated the button on the steering wheel to this function. Just funny it's still not there.
So I assume that the next software update will bring a fix for that.

However, Flowerfred, if you want the diamod button beeing programmable you need to get a software update.

I have version 12 (and NAV PRO) and can program both buttons. However, the option to repeat last nav instruction is not in the available list of choices.

I still do not have the NAV DVD yet so this may change once I receive and insert the DVD.
