Can someone spell out the differences of the Business, Pro and ordinary v's of the NAV. The Navtec website doesn't help much.

Who and why would folks have each?

Thanks,

Not sure why you would look to another company's Web site to find out about BMW products and, while I know what the Business and Professional satnav systems are, what is the ordinary satnav of which you speak?

Navtec supplies the NAV discs that came with both our E90 and E60. In fact I purchased an updated version for the E90 via Navtec. Seems to me to be a reasonable place to look to answer my question.

I have read in the Forum of the Business and Pro v of the BMW NAV. I have neither of those, I think. If so, the E60 disc I have (made by Navtec) must be a third v. Perhaps not called the ordinary.

Those are the two choices, Business or Professional. No other satnav exists if you have an E60. Looking at the data DVD is unlikely to tell you very much.

I believe we only get one type of Nav system here, in Germany you can choose between "Business" and "Professional" when ordering your car, the "Professional" runs about 1500 Euros more.

If you don't have the assistance window, you're really not missing much. I have it and I never use it for anything... just have it set to "off".

You can buy the disc directly from Navteq but its likely to be unbranded. It will work but wont have the BMW customisation on it unless you buy a BMW specific one, which Navteq is unlikely to sell you direct.

You can very easily tell my studying the DVD structure what type of DVD it is. But for a normal person if you have coloured maps then its the Professional DVD, if you just have the Arrow view you have the Business Version.

Best feature of the split screen is that you can have both views on together, besides a lot of other features. I will never be able to live without split screen, unlike some people here.
