Whn trying to ''save current location as home address'' the nav system seems to freeze; the only escape is to hit the menu button on the centre console and the location has not saved!!!

Any thoughts/ tips appreciated.

Cheers

I think there's an extra step required but I can't think of what it is right now and my car is miles away.

One thing that may be of importance though -- I don't recommend using the "home" feature unless BMW adds a PIN or password to use it (like my Honda has.) Without this PIN, someone could learn where you live -- a car thief might decide to see what else he can get (don't forget about his possible access through the garage door), a valet attendant might write down the address, a dishonest BMW technician might take a gander, etc.

In my opinion, with so much identity theft and high tech crimes going on, it's safer to just store your home address with a generic name and not link it to something called "home."

Just my $0.02...

What i did was to mark "home" a cross road a couple of blocks before. This way i get nav and feel safer. (anyway, normally everyone knows where home is. just good for calculations)

That's really good advice. I hadn't thought about that. I'm changing my "home" setting right away.

Thanks a bunch.
