I just recently realized my NAV is not picking the traffic info. Under the traffic info screen, it says transferring message...but it will run for ever...nothing shows. Any one else having same problem or its just me? I am in S.Cali

My RTTI works fine. It takes about 1-2 minutes or so after I start my car and I get a T+ symbol on the bottm of the I-Drive screen indicating that it is picking up the traffic info. Have you tried accessing the Traffic Information in I-Drive "Settings" to make sure that Traffic Information is checked and activated? I use the "Auto" setting for the traffic info. sending station and it seems to work well.

Yup, I did. T+ is showing, and setting is set at AUTO. However, even after 30 mins (drive time from work to home) it is still not picking up any traffic info. All there is on the screen was "Transferring message"

Also, I dont know if it has anything to do with the tinting. I remember the guy said he removed antenna in the back window when put tinting on it. However I remember it was still working fine that day when I NAV home....I remember I was still receiving TI.

Sorry if I'm behind on this, but is a CIP upgrade all that's necessary to include traffic info on the nav maps now??? Mine from 2005 doesn't have the option.

Not quite. RTTI (Real Time Traffic Information) is available only on 2007 models with NAV, I believe.

Yup I think its included in 07 model only.

I just came home from dinner, Ti wasnt picking up anything when I came home from work...but when I came home from dinner, all of a sudden everything worked again. Its weird. I know something is wrong, it just bothers me a lot.

mine works. doesn't help much though since there's traffic everywhere in LA. Works better when I'm headed to San Diego or Palm Springs, then there is enough room to take alternate routes etc..

It's included on 2007 5-Series with NAV (and no HD radio) manufactured 9/2007 and later. Earlier 2007s don't have it, but a solution may be in the offing...

It's a hardware (antennae & separate RDS radio receiver) and software (new Progman & Navteq 2007-1 or later) solution, it seems.
