Hi Friends:
We have been using nav a lot on our trip. The nav lady seems very slow-witted. For example, she often gives the direction to turn so late that it is easy to miss the turn if not anticipating her fumble. And, she very frequently talks about something being 1k feet away, and it usually is no more than 300 feet away. Third, she sometimes muffs a route that she has followed previously. Finally, she sometimes goes between the same two places using different routes even though she has been given exactly the same instructions. Has anyone else noticed the nav lady misbehaving in these, or other, ways?

Would it work better if you select a man's voice??
Seriously, I have a TomTom navigator for my other cars (move it from one to the others) and the same thing is true. Sometimes, the route planned makes absolutely no sense - or going somewhere one way and coming back an entirely - and longer way on the return trip.
Who knows??

In big cities with huge buildings, or when you're driving under trees, you may loose the satellite signal for a moment. The antenna has to see at least 3 satellites to be able to send to the NAV system the necessary informations ...
I love the 3d (perspective) mode with 200m scale when I 'm driving fast on twisty roads. You can see what kind of curve will follow ...

Thanks OB. See below.
You have to control if the DVD disk is perfectly clean. Dirties on disk may slow down or bug the NAV system
Disk clean. By, slow down do you mean slow and distort the sound or induce the nav lady to give directions almost to late to execute..

No big buildings. Juat wide-open spaces.

Yep, 3D is cool, but I usually use just plain old "Map Direction of Travel."
